If you'd like your images to be included on the gallery page, please e-mail me images or on CD-rom of 10 images in following specifications.
Image format: jpeg.
File size: Less than 1MB More than 100KB
Pixel size:Please reformat to larger side to be 500px.
Resolution: 72 dpi
2-D Images should be clopped to the edge of the pieces. Should not show any background.
Please consider hireling a professional photographer if you are not confident taking photos. You should use a digital SLR camera inserted of using a snap shot camera. Please send me purplish ready images.

About Paris Residency:
Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the Mayor’s Office of the City of Paris (Mairie de Paris), are partnering again to provide one New York City artist with the opportunity to live and work at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France. LMCC is currently inviting artists to submit applications for this special residency. One artist will be selected to receive live/work space in Central Paris and a monthly living stipend for six consecutive months, from March – August 2010.
The Paris Residency Program is open to emerging and mid-career visual artists who are U.S. citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents, and are also New York City residents. New York City includes all five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island.

Information for 2009 applicants

The Ruth & Harold Chenven Foundation gives annual awards to individual craftsperson and
artists living and working in the United States, who are engaged in or planning a craft or visual
art project. The RHCF does not accept film, video, performance art or music submissions. It is
expected that applicants will be working artists who have a developed body of work.

An independent jury of three artists will judge the submissions and make its recommendations
to the RHCF Board of Directors for final approval. The maximum award is 1,500 dollars.
Previous winners of a Foundation grant are not eligible for a second award.

Completed applications must be postmarked no later than July 31, 2009. Applicants will be
notified of the jury’s decisions in early November. The Foundation will accept a maximum of
350 completed applications. When that limit has been reached we will post a notice on this
website.

Winning submissions will be retained by the Ruth & Harold Chenven Foundation and may be
used for publicity purposes.

2009 Application Instructions

Please read and follow the instructions carefully. Due to the large volume of applications, we
cannot honor special requests.

1. One page (typed, maximum 300 words) of information about yourself and your work, i.e. your
artist's statement.

2. One page (typed, maximum 300 words) describing the project for which you are seeking an
award, including the amount of funding you are requesting and how the funds will be used. A
detailed budget for your project is not required.

3. One page (typed) which is an inventory list of your .jpg images . The inventory is a
description of each work submitted and should include only the following: title, medium,
dimensions, and date completed.

4. For items 1, 2 & 3, submit an original plus three copies on 8.5 X 11 white paper.

5. Five (5) images of your work. Submit images on a CD as 300dpi .jpg files, sized at 5x7
inches. Each .jpg file must be named with the title of work and the artist’s name. Images
should be of your current or most recent work, that provide the best examples of your overall
body of work

6. Label each page of your application and your CD with your name, address and contact
information.

7. Please ensure that you have followed all instructions carefully. Incomplete applications or
applications that do not adhere to the instructions will not be considered. Do not send additional
material with your application, as it will not be considered by the judges.

The Pollock-Krasner Foundation‘s offers grant to those individuals who have worked as professional artists over a significant period of time.

Application Guidelines
The Foundation welcomes, throughout the year, applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors and artists who work on paper, including printmakers. There are no deadlines. The Foundation encourages applications from artists who have genuine financial needs that are not necessarily catastrophic. Grants are intended for a one-year period of time. The Foundation will consider need on the part of an applicant for all legitimate expenditures relating to his or her professional work and personal living, including medical expenses. The size of the grant is determined by the individual circumstances of the artist.

７月２０日にニューヨーク日本人美術家協会の初めての試みでありますArt Fair
2007が和やかに行われました。参加アーチストメンバーの皆さんにはオークション用に小作品を
用意して頂いたのですがどれも力作で素晴らしい作品ばかりでした。色々と次回に課題を残す結果となりましたが、前向きに改善してきたいと存じます。
今回のアートフェアはたくさのかたのご協力、ご理解そしてメンバーのボランティアがあって実現できた事を心よりお礼申し上げると共に今後ともよろしくお

Direction:
Take  ➊ subway, get off at 116th street station.  The center is at the corner of 120 t ST. and Riverside Drive, but the entrance is on
Claremont Ave. which is between Broadway and Riverside.

地下鉄の ➊線１１６丁目駅下車、建物は１２０丁目とRiverside Drive の角にありますが、入り口はRiverside Driveより一つ手前の Claremont Ave.にある。

The Treasure Room Gallery is located in the back of the first floor just like treasures are always hidden in the back. I took ➁ subway
by mistake and got off at 116 St. station in Harlem. Panting from walking across the Harlem and entering the gallery, I saw the Pure Land
of Buddhist Heaven, there. Lotus flowers floating on the deep blue water and full bloom cherry blossoms by the water pleased me and eased
the pain in my foot instantly.

ギャラリーはTreasure Roomと呼ぶにふさわしく一階の奥にひっそりとありました。私、古川は間違って地
下鉄２番線の１１６丁目に行ってしまったため、ハーレムを横断する羽目になってしまいました。息を切ら
してギャラリーの中に入るとそこは、極楽浄土の世界です。深い碧の水に浮かぶ桃色の蓮の華や水辺に枝を
伸ばす桜の花がとても鮮やかで美しく、一瞬にして心も体もを癒してくれました。

Jun'Ichirö is well-known in New Jersey Artists' community and has experienced many residency programs all over the country.

New Jersey のアーチストコミュニティーではよく知られ、アメリカ各地のレジデンシープログラムを経験
してきた石田さんです.

The installation of display panels reminds you of Japanese indoor sliding partitions. It gives you the impression of the screen
paintings in an old temple in Japan.

ギャラリー内は展示パネルが重なるように設置されていて、日本の襖が重なっているようもしくは屏風が立っているようでもあり、日本のお寺を訪ねてそこの
ふすま絵／屏風絵を観賞しているようです。

Jun'Ichirö exhibits many works from small to fairly large this time.
You will be satisfied with his art. Each work manifests the Buddhism
from Jun's understanding and his visual sensibility to depict it.
The works that convey the beauty of pure mind and tranquility also
implies the previous state of human mind suffering from earthly
desires. Jun's painting is a great Buddhist painting.

The Interchurch Center is near Columbia University. It is a great
idea to take a walk in this neighborhood and stop by the gallery.



今回は、小さな作品からかなり大きなものまで沢山の作品が展示されており、石田さんの世界を堪能する事が出来ます。
それぞれの作品は石田さんの感性と理解により視覚化された仏教の世界を伝えています。観る者に浄化され美しい印象を与える作品の数々もよく見るとその奥
に描かれた複雑に絡まる自然の造形より、浄化された心が元は煩悩に苦しむものであったを知る事ができます。
The Interchurch Center はコロンビア大学キャンパスの近くにあり、アッパーウエスト散策がてら、是非ギャラリーに足を運ばれる事をお勧めします。

I am happy to report one of our artist members' exhibitions.　At the Jaany annual exhibition each artist shows only one or two his/her works, yet at the solo exhibition you can appreciate a volume of works。I would like to introduce artist member's personal art activity/ exhibition for you to know the artist well.
The very first artist is JongWang Lee.He has a solo exhibition at Prince George Ballroom Gallery gallery by Susan Eley Fine Art until April 5.
Lee has shown his works and had many exhibitions internationally, yet this is his first solo show in NY. Have a glimpse of the excitement of his exhibition!

His friend came over with his favorite (?) SAKE as a gift. Probably Lee is into RED now. He appeared in white with a red scarf and red and while funky glasses at the reception. Red seems to be a signature color of this exhibition. Many of the painting have saturated red and vivid primary colors.

友人が李さんの大好きな（？）お酒をお土産に来場。李さんは”赤”に凝ってるのかもしれません。レセプションパーティーには白の上下に赤いマフラー、赤と白のチェックのファンキーな眼鏡で登場。赤は今回の展覧会のテーマカラーともいえる色です。作品の中に真っ赤や鮮やかな色が目出しました。

"My Story" Lee says that this work depicts the collision of human nature and wild beast aspect in him. You see human feet and the body of bull tumbling and fighting in one creature. The frame is a part of the work. All works are made by oil paint,resin, and other materials. Lee has mastered the technique of using resin and oil paint and achieved vibrant colors, bold yet delicate fluid lines and shapes, and the depth created by the layers of resin. Each painting provokes your emotional association.

"My Story／マイストーリー"自分の中で葛藤する人間性と野生の部分を表現した作品です。一つの生き物の中で人間の足、雄牛の胴体が転がり戦っている状態を観る事ができます。額も作品の一部です。すべての作品はオイル、レジン、とその他の材料で作られています。李さんは油絵の具とレジンを一緒に使うテクニックをマスターし、鮮やかな色、大胆でいて繊細で流れるような線とかたち、そしてレジンの層により奥行きを作り出す事に成功しました。どの作品も見る人の情緒を刺激するものです。

I am sorry that I can not show how spacious the gallery is. The gallery has high ceiling and lots of wall space. Lee is showing many works in small to fairly large size.Congratulations ! Lee san!!
